Brand and digital product design
Odell Education
We connected a free high-school literacy curriculum across grades 9–12, literary units, teacher workflows, print covers, and a deep programme website.

The design decision
A large open curriculum began to read as one product.
- grade levels
- 9–12
- shared visual grammar

- type licensing cost
- $0
01 · Situation
Rigorous content looked like separate products.
The open-source English language arts programme contained grades, units, sections, lessons, activities, and teacher materials. The pieces needed coherence without making a free curriculum harder to publish or use.
02 · Brand system
One grammar, with room for each unit to speak.
Navy and orange geometry unified grades 9–12. A brighter secondary palette gave individual literary units their own presence. Montserrat kept typography available across print and web without adding a licensing barrier.
03 · Product structure
Make the curriculum hierarchy navigable.
Teacher user stories and information architecture organised the path from grade to unit, section, lesson, activity, learning goals, texts, and materials.
04 · Made
Identity, publishing system, and website UI.
The work included the logo and identity, grade-reader covers, literary-unit covers, stylescapes, information architecture, teacher user stories, wireframes, and production website interfaces.
05 · Outcome
Print and product now share one system.
The documented outcome is a unified publishing and navigation system across the programme. No student-performance metric is attributed to this design work.
